Privacy Policy: Pulse
Effective: 3 September 2026
Controller: Omega Networks Limited, Wellington, New Zealand
Privacy and legal: information@omega.net.nz
Product and hosting support: support@omega.net.nz
This policy covers:
- The Pulse native apps (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) on the Apple App Store
- The Pulse pages and the rest of omega.net.nz
- Pulse, NetBox, and Zabbix tenants Omega hosts under a services contract
It does not cover a NetBox or Zabbix instance you operate, or Apple’s processing of App Store payments. Pulse is not affiliated with NetBox Labs or Zabbix SIA.
GitHub source is licensed under AGPL-3.0. Building Pulse yourself is not a contract with Omega under this policy, except that this text still describes what the software is designed to do (stay local unless you point it at APIs you control, or you buy hosting from us).
1. Short version
- The App Store app is local-first. Your twin, tokens, recordings, and pins stay on the device. Omega does not collect them from the app. There is no analytics, advertising, or crash SDK in the binary. Apple processes App Store purchases.
- The website uses Google Analytics. Contact and demo forms send us the details you type.
- Omega Cloud (hosted tenants) is currently in New Zealand only. We hold that customer’s Pulse / NetBox / Zabbix data under the services contract, not under an App Store subscription.
2. App Store app: what stays on the device
Pulse stores locally:
- Settings you enter (server URLs, API tokens, usernames)
- A copy of infrastructure records from your inventory API (commonly NetBox)
- Monitoring events from your monitoring API (commonly Zabbix)
- Optional SSH recordings and host-key pins
- Optional Device Web TLS pins
- Seat grants derived from your Apple subscription
Sync goes to servers you configure (or to an Omega-hosted tenant if that is what you bought). It does not go to a Pulse analytics backend.
Secrets use the OS keychain / Secure Enclave facilities the app uses. Treat the device as an operator workstation.
3. App Store app: what Omega does not collect
From the signed Pulse binary Omega does not collect:
- Inventories, maps, racks, or cables
- Monitoring events
- SSH session contents or recordings
- API tokens
- Advertising identifiers, analytics events, or third-party crash reports
We do not embed advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
Apple. Downloads, subscriptions, Restore Purchases, and refunds are processed by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Omega does not see your card number. If you share crash reports with Apple through the OS, that is Apple’s opt-in, not ours.
Your (or your host’s) APIs. Traffic to NetBox, Zabbix, SSH, and Device Web is your connection to those hosts.
Support. If you email logs or a store file to support@omega.net.nz, we use that only to fix the issue.
4. Website (omega.net.nz)
When you use the site we may process:
- Name, email, organisation, and message from contact or demo forms
- Technical logs (IP address, browser, pages, time) on our host
- Google Analytics cookies or similar identifiers, so we can see aggregate use of the public site (not the contents of your Pulse app)
Google’s processing is described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can use browser controls and, where offered, Google’s opt-out tools. We do not run a Meta/Facebook pixel on the site under this policy. If we add other trackers we will update this page.
Do not put production passwords or API tokens in a web form.
5. Omega-hosted tenants (Omega Cloud)
If we host Pulse, NetBox, and/or Zabbix for you under a services contract:
- We are processing infrastructure and account data on your instructions as your provider.
- Data is held in New Zealand, on Omega Cloud, currently with no routine transfer of tenant contents offshore. If that changes, it will be in the contract and this policy.
- Staff access is limited to delivering the service (operations, backup, agreed support).
- How long we keep a tenant after the contract ends, and whether you get an export, is whatever that services contract says. Ask for the export terms before you sign.
- App Store device seats are not a hosted NetBox. Hosting is a separate agreement.
6. Legal bases
New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. We collect personal information for the purposes in this policy: answering you, running the website, performing a hosting contract, and meeting the law.
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies (for example an EEA/UK buyer of the app or a hosted tenant): we rely on contract (hosting, support), legitimate interests (answering a demo request, securing the site), and consent where a non-essential cookie requires it. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal information we hold (form mail, hosting accounts). We cannot extract the local twin from a device we do not operate.
7. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it with:
- Apple, for App Store commerce
- Google, for website Analytics
- Hosts and mail providers that run omega.net.nz and our inboxes, only as needed to operate those systems
- A party the law requires us to tell
We do not share an App Store user’s inventory with anyone, because we do not have it.
8. Retention
- On-device app data: until you delete the app, use Delete All, or wipe the device.
- Website forms and mail: as long as the conversation and ordinary business records require.
- Google Analytics: per Google’s retention settings for our property.
- Hosted tenants: per the services contract.
- Support attachments: until the job is done, unless the contract or the law says keep a copy.
9. International use
The App Store app may be downloaded worldwide. Omega is in New Zealand. Apple and Google may process their slices of data in the United States and other countries under their terms. Hosted tenant contents are in New Zealand as in section 5.
10. Children
Pulse is an operator tool. The App Store age rating is 4+. We do not direct the product at children and we do not knowingly collect children’s information as a service.
11. Your rights (Privacy Act 2020)
You may ask for access to, or correction of, personal information Omega holds. Email information@omega.net.nz. If the data only exists on your device, we will say we do not hold it.
You may complain to the Privacy Commissioner if you are not satisfied.
12. Security
The signed app uses TLS for the APIs you configure (NetBox requires https), OS keychain / Secure Enclave for secrets, and on-device encryption for optional session recordings. You are responsible for device lock and who can unlock it.
Omega Cloud is operated as production infrastructure in NZ. No hosting is “perfectly secure”; the contract will say what we commit to.
13. Changes
We will change the effective date when this policy changes. Material changes to app behaviour will ship in an app update.
